Dora Hart

ATHENS - Dora A. Hart, 81, of Athens, died Sunday morning, Dec. 27, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born March 7, 1928 in Hebbardsville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Angie Landis Hawk. She was a former employee of McBee Systems and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Albany. She was active in the March of Dimes and other fund raising organizations. She is survived by three children, William L. (Deby) Hart of Mt. Vernon, Cathy (Russ) Bolin of Athens, John E. (Michelle L.) Hart of Athens; six grandchildren, Andy and Robert Hart of Mt. Vernon, Amanda Durham of Springfield, MO, Matt Gura of Lancaster, Rachelle and Amber Hart of Athens; two great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; two sisters, Ruth L. Hawk of Hebbardsville, Leah Crabtree of Albany; and several nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Hart; and a brother, Carl Hawk. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Del Dodrill, Retired UMC officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
