Brenda Kirkendall

ATHENS - Brenda Kathleen Kirkendall, 49, of Athens, passed away early Monday morning, Nov. 16, 2009 at her home surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. Born Sept. 18, 1960 in ATHENS county, she was the adopted daughter of Mary Burch Halbirt of ATHENS and the late Phil Halbirt. She was a 1979 graduate of Federal Hocking High School and was a member of The Canaanville United Methodist Church. Among Brendachr(39)s many talents was that she was an avid photographer and enjoyed making people smile. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jim Kirkendall; three children, Shannon Tanthorey Pae and significant other Jon Cooper of Athens, Lindsey and Josh Zeigler of Albany, Tyler and Joeline Tanthorey of Albany; five grandchildren, Haylee and Hunter Pae, Killian and Kaidyn Zeigler, Connor Cooper; a brother; many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Besides her adoptive father, she was preceded in death by a brother. Brendachr(39)s family would like to extend special thanks to all of the family and friends that helped during her courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be Thursday at 3:00 PM at The Canaanville United Methodist Church with Jim Lambert officiating.
