THE PLAINS - George Dresher, 82, of The Plains, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at his home. Born August 8, 1927 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Walter and Neva Dresher. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of Paramuthia Lodge # 25 in ATHENS and served as Worshipfull Master in 1968 and a member of the ATHENS -ork Rite Bodies in Athens, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and was crowned a 33 degree Mason on September 23, 1997 at Grand Rapids Michigan. He was a honorary member of R.R Rickly # 670 in Columbus, Constitution Lodge # 426 in New Marshfield, Trimble Lodge # 557 in Trimble, Glouster Lodge # 607 in Glouster. He was also a member of the ATHENS county Shrine Club, Aladdin Shrine in Columbus, Ambassadors Club, Royal Order of Jesters Court # 8, and a Charter Member of the Past Masters Unit. He served on the Membership Committee from 1990-2009. He is survived by a sister, Ann (Rex) Hutson of Columbus; cousins, nieces and nephews; two special friends, Anthony "Tony& Bachman of Columbus, Cassandra Green of Glouster. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bette K. Dresher November 8, 2000. Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Harbarger officiating. Burial will be in ATHENS -emory Gardens. Friends may at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 5 PM where Masonic services will be conducted at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Learning Center, 290 Cramer Creek Court, Dublin, Ohio 43017 or Shriners Hospital for Crippled-Burned Children, 3850 Stelzer Road, Columbus, Ohio 43219.
