Elma Shields

CHAUNCEY - Elma K. Shields, 75, of Chauncey, Died Thursday morning, August 27, 2009 at her home. Born November 12, 1933 in ATHENS county, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hiram and Laura Rommel Steinmetz. She had been co-owner of Dover Cleaners with her late husband and was formerly employed at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. She was active in the Christian community. She is survived by two sons, Lewis (Pettie) Shields of Alliance, Edward (Kathy) Shields of Marietta; four grandchildren, Eric Shields, Kimberly Handy, Mark Shields, Bryan Shields; and eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Shields; a son Terry Shields; two brothers, Roy and Paul Steinmetz; and a sister, Opal Winters. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Larry Swart officiating. Burial will be in ATHENS -emory Gardens.
