ATHENS - Milton Cooksey, 76, of Athens, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. Born March 29, 1933 in Athens, he was the son of the late Milton and Fredia Hunter Cooksey. He was retired from Abex and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and loved sports where he was a baseball and softball coach for many years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Moody Cooksey; three children, Roxanne (Don) Stover of High Point, NC, Jim (Susan) Cooksey of Circleville, Hubert Cooksey of Athens; seven grandchildren, Scott, Kristen Stover, Seth, Chelsea, Owen, Jeremy Cooksey, Brodie Ross; three great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Linda Cooksey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Richard Cooksey. Memorial services will be Thursday at 7:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. H. Willard Love officiating.
