GUYSVILLE - Charles Lee Wingett, 85, of Guysville, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his home. Born March 31, 1924 in Athens, he was the son of the late Ray and Susan Howard Wingett. He retired from ABEX and was formerly a Lodi Township Dairy Farmer. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was part of the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He was a member of The ATHENS -merican Legion Post 21, and The ATHENS -FW Post 3477. He is survived by his Wife of 63 years, Jane; three daughters, Sue Lynn (Robert) Beverage of Albany, Candy Lou Bradley of Tuppers Plains, Jane Ann (Tim) Bail of Athens; two grandchildren, Molly Bail, Jeff Howell; four great grandchildren, Ericka, Selena, Seth, Teren Howell; a sister, Betty Bernard of Dayton; a nephew, Larry Bernard of Dayton; two aunts, Peggy Seipel of Athens, and Frances Raymond of Nelsonville. Graveside services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at The Garden Cemetery with Monte McCune officiating. Military services will be conducted by ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW.
