Cathy DeWeese-Wakeland

<span style="font-size: 14pt">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <span style="font-size: 14pt">THE PLAINS - Cathy DeWeese-Wakeland, 57, of The Plains, died Sunday morning, June 14, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. <span style="font-size: 14pt">Born June 1, 1952 in Athens, she was the daughter of Murven A. and Rosalee E. Metcalf DeWeese. <span style="font-size: 14pt">She was a lifetime member and past president of both The Post 7174 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary. Also, she was a member and past president of the ATHENS -mblem Club 165, and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 175. She was employed with McBeechr(39)s for 36 years, and currently was employed with the Senior Employment Center. <span style="font-size: 14pt">Besides her parents, she is survived by a sister, Susan Tudor of The Plains; a niece, Scarlett Tudor of The Plains; sister-in-law, Dorothy DeWeese of The Plains; two nephews, Stephen DeWeese of Cleveland, and Joshua DeWeese of Columbus; special aunts and uncles, David (Susie) Douglas of Grove City and Buzz (Mary) Evans of Mansfield; and her very proctective companion, Rusty, her dog. <span style="font-size: 14pt">She was preceded in death by her husband, David Wakeland, and her brother, Kerry DeWeese. <span style="font-size: 14pt">Services will be Thursday at 1 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Timothy Waugh officiating.
