ALBANY - Charles W. Woods, 88, of Albany, formerly of Londonderry, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Charles was born August 27, 1920, in Mineral, he was the son of the late M.G. and Florence Shingler Woods. He attended Waterloo School in New Marshfield and retired in 1980 as a conductor for the Baltimore and Ohio/Chessie System Railrod in Chillicothe after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Wilma (Peg) McDaniel Woods; a daughter, Sandy (Bert) Miller of Athens; two grandsons, John (Kim) Miller and David (Michelle) Miller both of Athens; six great grandchildren, Brittany Miller, Tyler Miller, Haley DeVore, Isaac Miller, Ian Miller, Iden Miller all of Athens; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Woods of New Marshfield; a brother-in-law, Dick Bobo of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Timothy Woods; a brother, Glenn Woods; four sisters, Adrian Whaley, Eileen Reighard, Joy Bobo, and Jill Ward. Graveside services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at New Marshfield Cemetery with Rev. Monte McCune officiating. At his request, there will be no public calling hours.
