Ralph Hixon Cochran, 86, died at The Lindley Inn Assisted Living Community, The Plains, Ohio, on February 2, 2009. He was born to Ralph Andrew Cochran and Pearl Hixon Cochran, in Jackson, OH. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. On his last mission he was shot down, became a POW and later received a Purple Heart. He spent 25 years as an administrator for the USDAchr(39)s Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Olive Burrows Cochran. He leaves behind his children, Linda (Rick Duff), Athens, OH; Stephen (Margaret), Jackson, OH; Wendy, Columbus, OH; a brother; three grandchildren, Graham (Stacy), Worthington, OH; Jennifer (James), Athens, OH; James (Lisa), Athens, OH; and six great-grandchildren.
