STEWART - David James, 58, of Stewart, died unexpectedly, Monday afternoon, January 5, 2009 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born December 11, 1950 in Athens, he was the son of the late Ray Frederick and Mary Finsterwald James. He was a 1969 graduate of ATHENS High School and retired from Verizon. He was a member of the ATHENS -lks lodge 973, The Plains United Methodist Church and a life member of The Plains Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; two daughters, Angie (Bob) Scott of The Plains, Shannon James of The Plains; two step daughters, Dawn (David) Delaney of Stewart, Mandi Mingus of Athens; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carl, Emily, Elise Scott, Brandon James, Zach Delaney, Quinton Brooks, Maggy Delaney; mother-in-law, Uldine Lewis of Millfield; brother-in-law, John (Mary) Lewis of Stewart; sister-in-law, Tina (Warren) Schall of Millfield. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Fred James; and a granddaughter, Sidney Scott. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at The Plains United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Timothy Waugh officiating. Burial will be in West Union Street Cemetery.
