Robert McGill

STEWART - Robert L. McGill, 69, of Stewart, passed away Wednesday morning, December 17, 2008 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. Born June 16, 1939 in Stewart, he was the son of the late Roy Heber and Dortha Anna Dunfee McGill. He was a 1958 graduate of Rome Canaan High School and was a US Army veteran. He retired from Diamond Power in Lancaster in 1988. He also attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the ATHENS -ranch. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda (Pierce) McGill; two daughters, Andrea (John) Young of Athens, Stacey (Terry Ogg) McGill of Albany; two distant daughters, Carmen Jane and Paula Dawn; six grandchildren, Jocilyn, Johnny, Tasha, Robert Austin, Alexis, Nicole; a sister, Ethel (Ralph) Smith of Stewart; a brother, George (Shirley) McGill of Lancaster; and many in-laws, family and friends. Robert and his family would like to thank hospice and the special nurses for their care during an emotional time. Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Ben Ogles officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 5 to 8 PM.
