ATHENS - Paul R. Dowler, 63, of Athens, died early Tuesday morning, Nov. 25, 2008 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. Born Nov. 2, 1945 in ATHENS county, he was the son of Dorothy Jameson Dowler of ATHENS and the late Junior Cecil Dowler. He was a graduate of ATHENS High School and retired from the Ping Center at Ohio University. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had been a deer processor for many years. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Kirkendall Dowler; two sons, Todd (Edlynn) Dowler of Athens, Scott Dowler of Athens; five grandchildren, Tiffanie, Nate, Nick Dowler, Josh Gloeckner, Aaron Sedwick; his twin sister, Pauline (Bob) Gilbert of Ashville, NC; two brothers, Bob (Joy) Dowler of The Plains, James (Michaela) Dowler of Columbus and his loving dog companion, Gracie. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Dan Dowler. Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Burial will be in ATHENS -emory Gardens.
