ATHENS - Edwin Albert Secoy, 87, of ATHENS died Monday afternoon, November 10, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born July 29, 1921 in ATHENS county, was the son of the late Harley Harrison and Ella Martha Brooks Secoy. He was a WWII US Army Veteran where he received the Purple Heart serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from the City of ATHENS -ater Department with over 30 years of service and was a member of the Nazarene Church of Nelsonville and a life member of the American Legion Post 284 in Bryan. He is survived by his wife, Jean; four children, Bob (Sue) Secoy of Bryan, Donna (Lonnie) Masters of Waddy, KY, Ken Secoy of Charleston, SC, and Dee (Paul) Jellison of Wilmington, OH; seven grandchildren, Brad, Randy, Poogie, Shawn, Misty, Todd, and Victoria; eight great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Matthew, Reggie, Rusty, Ashley, Adam and Brooke; three step children, Bob Beal, Jim Beal and Linda Fetty; nine step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren, and 2 step great great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma (Bub) Riley of Athens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zita Moore Secoy; a sister, Edith Perry; and daughter-in-law Pam Secoy. Services will be Thursday at 1 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Ed True officiating. Burial will be at New Marshfield Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5 to 8 PM.
