Betty Douglas

THE PLAINS - Betty Douglas, 82, of The Plains, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Born Sept. 5, 1926 in Chauncey, she was the daughter of the late Ernest O. and Stella Grigsby Champlin. She is survived by two children, Robert (Cheryl) Douglas of Albany, Rita (Brent) Hanning of Nelsonville; two grandchildren, Julie (Ed) Venrick of Nelsonville, Bobby (Nicole) Douglas of Albany; and a very special sister-in-law, Mary Champlin of The Plains. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Douglas; a daughter, Donna Jean Douglas; a granddaughter, Kelly Douglas; two sisters, Opal Hamilton, Belva Champlin; three brothers, Leo, Leroy, and Leslie Champlin. Gravesides services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hilltop Cemetery with Rev. Edward True officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
