Clarice B. Gaston, age 92, of Athens, Ohio, died early Sunday morning, September 28 at the Lindley Inn. She was born April 11, 1916 to Charles and Sadie McDaniel. Clarice was a graduate of ATHENS High School and Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and taught elementary education in ATHENS county. She was an active member of Hobson Club, Higley Club and the Ohio Eastern Star. She was the wife of the late Glenn A. Gaston for 60 years. She is survived by one son, Dr. Max L. Gaston and daughter-in-law Carol A. Gaston of Charleston, South Carolina and one daughter, Nancy L. Thomas and son-in-law William R. Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia. She had one grandchild, Stacey L. Gavrell, daughter of Nancy, and one great-grandchild, Emma L. Gavrell who live in Colorado. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, Oct 1, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Hughes Moquin Funeral home in Athens. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate the life of this wonderful mother and friend with Rev. Mary Jo Yeakel officiting. Burial will be at Carthage Cemetery.
