ATHENS - Donna Mansfield Kovanda, age 88, of Wyndemere in Wheaton, formerly of Cicero and Naperville, died July 17, at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born March 14, 1920 in Athens, Ohio to Merwin and Mabel Mansfield. In her youth, Donna enjoyed playing sports and remained an avid sports fan. She loved animals. Donna was outgoing and loved helping people. Family was the most important part of her life. She was a wonderful grandmother attending all of their sporting events. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph, her children Carol(Mark Ludvigson)Kovanda and Gary(Jeanne) Kovanda, her grandchildren Gregory and Stephanie Kovanda; her twin brother, Donald(Selma)Mansfield, nieces, Linda(David Spears, Norma(Larry)McCoy, Susann(Buddy)Williamson, and nephews Daniel(Mary)Mansfield, and Brian(Becky)Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dr. Helen Robinson Jobe, and a brother Paul (Edith) Mansfield. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at South Canaan Baptist Church with Monte McCune officiating. Burial will be at South Canaan Cemetery.
