Larry Burnett

ATHENS - Larry R. Burnett, 63, of Athens, died Monday morning, June 16, 2008 at is home after an extended illness. Born May 20, 1945 in Medina, he was the son of the late Leroy and Arlene Neumeyer Burnett. He was a graduate of Kent State University where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degreechr(39)s in Anthropology and Socialology and worked towards his Phd at North Eastern University in Boston. He taught many years in the Boston area and Marietta College before entering into the mental health field. He also worked for the 317 board for 16 years before retiring. He was a committed social activist and served those who were neediest in the society. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pat; two sisters, Robin and Coleen. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brian. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
