DORIS GEVAS The Plains - Doris Gevas, 87, of The Plains, died early Tuesday morning, June 10, 2008, at the Lindley Inn. She was the daughter of Pete and Sophia Gevas, born on December 12, 1920 in Yorkville, Ohio. She graduated from Yorkville High School in 1938. After graduating from high school, she worked as an executive secretary for Westinghouse in Baltimore, for 40 years. When she retired she moved to ATHENS -o be near her relatives. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral (Columbus, Ohio), ATHENS -hapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of Penelope (Baltimore, Maryland). She was a volunteer at Ochr(39)Bleness Hospital in the bookkeeping department. She loved to travel, and in addition to trips within the United States, she took numerous trips abroad. Her other hobbies were gardening and bowling. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Aspasia Gevas Couladis. She is survived by two brothers, George (Mary) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Emmanuel (Irene) of Athens, a sister, Angelores of The Plains and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Father Michael Kontos officiating. Internment will be at ATHENS -emory Gardens.
