ATHENS - Charles S. Dautel, 85, of Hidden Valley Lake, Indiana, formerly of Athens, died Thursday evening, April 24, 2008 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Born April 5, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles and Frances Shreeves Dautel. He was a Ohio University graduate where he was a contributor to the Football Scholarship Fund Program and also was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati Law School. He retired from Eagle Picher Industries as vice president. He was a US Army Captain Veteran of WWII serving the 29th infantry and was part of the invasion of Normandy. He was a member of The American Legion Post 464 in St. Leon, Indiana and a member of Phi Delta Theta. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Isabell Brown Dautel; two sons, Charles(Bonnie) Dautel of Aberdeen, Ohio, Louis Craig Dautel of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Services will be Monday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Burial will be in West Union Street Cemetery where military services will be conducted by ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW.
