ATHENS - John "Gene& Farson, 75, of Athens, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at his home. Born May 30, 1932, he was the son of the late John William Farson and Delores Mae Lohse Jayjohn Miller. He retired from Lennox Industries after 35 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of The Plains VFW Post 7174. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha; two sons, Keith (Ibby) Farson of Athens, Fred (Sarah) Farson of Millfield; four granddaughters, Pamela Farson, Cheryl (Jason) Slone, Ashley (Frank) Campbell, Misty (Brad Adams) Farson; one grandson, Austin Farson; one great grandson, Donovan Slone; two half brothers, Leo Jayjohn, Larry Jayjohn; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Theodore and Clara Lohse; and a half brother, Bill Jayjohn. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Bob Pollock officiating. Burial will be in Bates Cemetery where military services will be conducted by The Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 8 PM.
