Ida Shields

THE PLAINS - Ida Shields, 91, of The Plains, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born September 17, 1916 in Skidmore, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Icie Burton. Ida lived in Dayton for 17 years where she worked at Winterchr(39)s National Bank. She and her husband then moved to New Marshfield and later to The Plains. She was a member of ATHENS Church of Christ. She is survived by five siblings, Elsie (Norman) Lynch of Lancaster, Irene Davidson of Athens, Vera Schall of Florida, Robert Burton of Georgia, Chlorous Young of Pickerington; two sisters-in-law, Tommey Wilson of Athens, Mary Burton of Belpre; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Shields; a brother, Arthur Burton; and sister, Kathleen Stalnaker. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Chris MacNeal officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4 to 6 PM.
