AMESVILLE - Orland L. Sayre, 77, of Amesville, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an auto accident. Born July 12, 1930 in Trimble, he was the son of the late Maynard and Alyce Kasler Sayre. He retired from Columbia Gas Corp. and had farmed for many years. Orland was a member of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons 278 of Amesville, an honorary member of Trimble Masonic Lodge 557, The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, The Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, ATHENS -15 Knights Templar, Aladdin Shriners of Columbus, ATHENS county Shrine Club, and The Order of Eastern Star. He also served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Peggy J.; a sister, June Williams of Glouster; a brother, Harold R. (Norma) Sayre of Amesville; a niece, Susan Sayers of Glouster; and a nephew, Richard Williams. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Jack Sedwick officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery where military services will be conducted by ATHENS -merican Legion, ATHENS -FW and Albany VFW. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm where Masonic services will be at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Amesville Masonic Lodge 278, C/O Jimmie Glass, Amesville, Ohio 45711.
