ATHENS - Ruth Livingston Roberts, 84, of Athens, formerly of Carollton, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at Russell Nursing Home. Born Oct. 15, 1922 in Rix Mills, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Paul and Sadie Purdy Livingston. She was a graduate of Worthington High School and Wheeling Technical/Business School. She was former employee of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and retired from Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens. Ruth was known for her extraordinary kindness, unconditional love, unusually pleasant demeanor and unintentional funny things she would say. She took pride in her Irish-Scottish heritage. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Wagner Svendsen (Jerry) of Athens; a son, William A. Roberts of Chicago, Illinois. Ruth had a special place in her heart for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so proud of them: nine grandchildren, Julie Arbuckle (Justin) of San Francisco, California, Jenny Robertson (John) of Washington, D.C., Patty Rogers (Fritz) of Denver, Colorado, Dr. Chloechr(39) Sandquist (Dr. Michael) of Portland, Oregon, B.J. Roberts of Chicago, Illinois, Lara Wagner of Washington, D.C., Sean Roberts of Chicago, Illinois, twins, Brian and Kevin Roberts of Chicago, Illinois; three great grandchildren, Molly Rogers of Denver, Colorado, Josie Arbuckle of San Francisco, California, Laura Rogers of Denver, Colorado, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to the medical staff and caregivers at Russell Nursing Home. Thanks to her ATHENS -riends (Joanne, Pauline, Janet, Nina) and Carrollton friend (Helen Lowdermilk) to name a few and her family for their many visits, gifts and cards. You brought her great joy and you meant more to her than you know. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Roberts in 1988; two brothers, Paul and David Livingston; and her first grandchild, Jennifer Roberts. She will continue to remain a part of every life she touched.
