GLOUSTER - Pastor James Ray Wolfe, 68, of Glouster, went to be with the Lord, Sat. evening, Feb. 10, 2007 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center. Born April 7, 1938 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Vern Lewis and Helen Beatrice Kasler Wolfe. He was a 1956 graduate of Ames Bern High School. He received his BS at Ohio University in 1960. He graduated as an Ensign in 1960 from the US Naval Officer School in Newport , RI and was a LTJG when he was discharged from the Navy. He then came home and taught math at Ames Bern and Federal Hocking High Schools . He later received his Masters Degree from Ohio University in 1967 and then taught and retired from Hocking College in 1990. He received his PhD from Ohio University in 1977. He was a pastor for 30 years at the Amesville Fellowship and Concord Churches . He received his Doctor of Divinity from Kingsway Bible College in Des Moines , Iowa . James was a loving family man, and an educator of Math and Gods word. His wish was that none should perish but that all would come to the knowledge of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carolyn; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Ray Jr. and Tracy Wolfe of Cambridge, Ont., Joseph Andrew and Georgi Wolfe of Glouster; three grandchildren, Nicole, Lauren and Emma and a grandchild due Friday; a brother, Vern Eldon Wolfe of Glouster; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Agnes Wolfe of Athens; a twin brother and sister-in-law, John And Anna Wolfe of Glouster; a sister and brother-in-law, Wahneta and Paul Linscott of Millfield; a sister-in-law, Lavonne Wolfe of Glouster. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl; and a brother, Miles. Services will be Wed. at 11:00 A.M. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Hudnell of the Concord Church officiating.
