ATHENS - Suzanne Katz Morris, 86, of Athens, formerly of Columbus, died Saturday Feb. 10, 2007 at Ochr(39)Bleness Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Harry N. and Nancy B Katz. She attended the Columbus School for Girls, the University School, and North High School. She graduated in 1941 cum laude in physics and mathematics from Ohio State University. Active in many extracurricular organizations at OSU, she was elected to Chimes, Mortar Board and Phi Beta Kappa. Later she earned a masterchr(39)s degree in psychology, also from OSU. Born on April 30, 1920, Suzanne helped blaze the trail for future generations of professional women. She was a technical writer and editor. Both the Columbus Dispatch and the Columbus Citizen Journal published her articles, as did Science Illustrated, Science news Letter and other national magazines. She also taught science and mathematics for several years, and served on the faculty of the Ohio State University, Franklin University, and the University of Hawaii. Theater was a lifelong hobby. She is survived by a son, William N. (Jan) Morris of Greater Columbus and a daughter, Beki S. (William F. Jr.) Morris Cash of The Plains. There will be no public service.
