Charles Shields Sr.

MILLFIELD Charles L. Shields, Sr., 89, of Millfield, Died Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Pine Hills Continuing Center.Born April 16, 1917 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Henry and Dora Wyatt Shields.He retired from Texas Eastern and Southern Ohio Coal Company. He also raised and ran thoroughbred race horses. He was also a member of the Sheriffchr(39)s Mounted Posse. He is survived by three children, Charles (Robbie) Shields, Jr. of Circle Hill, Nancy (Roger) Cox of Zanesville, Doralee Shields of Athens; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell (Margaret) Shields of Albany, Roscoe (Wilma) Shields of Tipp City.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice in 1980; three sisters and seven brothers. Services will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with David Axsom officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
