ATHENS -Orin E. Secoy, 81, of Athens, died Saturday evening, July 1, 2006 at HolzerMedical Center in Gallipolis.Born Jan. 6, 1925 in Athens, he was the son of the late Marvin R. and Anna Brooks Secoy.Orin graduated from ATHENS High School in 1942. He served with the US Marines during WWII in the Pacific Theater in VMD 354 as an aerial photographer and side machine gunner.Orin worked for 24 years at McBees and also worked for General Telephone for over 15 years. In his retirement, Orin enjoyed local and national media coverage for his hobby of building model outhouses and models in bottles. He also enjoyed photography and woodworking.He was a member of the RichlandUnitedMethodist Church, ATHENS -istorical Society and ATHENS -irst Families. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 21.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Leoma; two sons, Steven (Helen) of ATHENS and Michael (Carol) of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Brandy Secoy of Athens, David, Marc and Daniel Secoy of Chillicothe; great grandchild, Hailey Secoy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herman; sisters, Opal Baughn, Ester Burr, Ila Maxwell, and Goldie Secoy; and grandson-in-law, Mike F. Collins.Services will be Thursday at 11 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
