Rolland McKibben

THE PLAINS Rolland L. McKibben, 80, of The Plains, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at his home.Born July 3, 1925 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Carl and Ivy Derrington McKibben.He was a US WWII Army veteran with five bronze stars.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; four children, Gary Dean (Joann) McKibben of The Plains, Ronnie (Emma) McKibben of Chauncey, Linda Heightland of Athens, Rolland Jr. (Susie) McKibben of Buchtel; six grandchildren, David, Chad, Robert, Michael, Rebecca and Emma; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Harold, Charlie, and Billy; and sisters, Mary Champlin and Flossie Hillen.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; and a son-in-law, David Heightland.Services were held Friday at 1 PM at AthensMemory Gardens with Carl Radcliff officiating.
