 Herbert B. Wilson THE PLAINS Herbert B. (The Concrete Man) Wilson, 97 of The Plains died Saturday morning, April 1, 2006 at his home.He was born July 1, 1908 in Murray City and was the son of the late Edgar and Carrie Bryson Wilson.He was a 1929 graduate of The Plains High School where he played basketball, baseball and track. He was a retired construction worker in the ATHENS -rea. He was associated with the Holiness Church and previously taught Sunday school and bible class. He led a Christian life.He is survived by five sons, William (Barbara) Wilson of Nelsonville, David (Ruth) Wilson of The Plains, Merritt (Shirley) Wilson of The Plains, Paul (Donna) Wilson of The Plains, and Jack (Carol) Wilson of The Plains; a daughter, Marilyn Sparks of Logan; twin daughters, Wanda Jayjohn of The Plains and Wyona Puckett of The Plains; 28 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Dains of Athens. In his last days he was cared for by his children and grandaughter Lisa Wilson.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; a son, Richard Wilson; two brothers, Gilbert, and Herbertchr(39)s twin brother Robert; and three sisters, Ella Gloeckner, Lucille Bowers and Mabel Martin.Services will be Wednesday at 11 AM at Salem Community Church with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery.Friends may call at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.You may send a message of sympathy to the family at www.hughesmoqiunfuneralhome.com.
