                                                                             Hubert Leon DouglasTHE PLAINS - Hubert Leon Douglas, 77, of The Plains, died Friday evening, March 24, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.Born Dec. 26, 1928 in ATHENS county, he was the son of the late Leo and Gertrude Evans Douglas. He was a former employee of Slaters Builders Supplies in The Plains.He is survivedby his wife of 59 years, Betty; a son, Robert (Cheryl) Douglas of Albany; a daughter, Rita (Brent) Hanning of Nelsonville; two grandchildren, Julie (ED) Venrick of Nelsonville, Bobby (Nicole) Douglas of Albany; two sisters, Helen Hawk of Athens, Mabel (William) McClanahan of Albany; a brother, Harold (Wilma) Douglas of Shade. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jean Douglas; a granddaughter, Kelly Dawn Douglas; two sisters, Jenny Chapman, Mary Lynch.Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Hilltop Cemetery with William Stires officiating.
