ATHENS - Harry Shirley Wright, 84, of South Canaan Road, Athens, died Wednesday evening, September 7, 2005 at his home.He was born November 18, 1920 in Canaanville, and was the son of the late Ralph Gilbert and Clara Shirley Wright.He was a graduate of Rome-Canaan High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Phillipines and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He is survived by his daughters, Clara Shirley Wright of Athens, and Patti L. Weaver of IL; son-in-law, Llewelyn D. Weaver (Maj, USAF Ret.); grandchildren, SPC Dawn Weaver, USA, Germany, Tara Weaver, IL., Jared Weaver, IL., Sgt. Jason Weaver, USMC, MI., and A1C Patrick Weaver, USAF, AK.; and great-grandson, Jonathon Weaver, AK.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Leodas (Lody) Wright.Services will be Saturday at 1 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Monte McCune officiating.
