align=center> ATHENS - Sandra K. Shrieves, 61 of The Plains, died Monday morning, August 29, 2005 at her home. She was born October 20, 1943 in Athens, daughter of the 1ateJohn W. and Mildred Gulley Grubb. Sandra worked from 1963 to 1999 in a number of places including, ATHENS -ffice Supply, McLain Plumbing, H & R Block, the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and McBees. She worked for Ohio University in the mailing department, the Center for Human Development as clerical supervisor, the Workshops Office and as secretary to the Dean of the College of Communication. She was the assistant director of The ATHENS county CETA Program. Sandra was business administrator for HAVAR. For the last 19 years of her career she was employed at Tri-County Vocational School where she taught adult business classes, served as placement coordinator and taught the computerized accounting in the high school. She was an advisor for Business Professionals of America. She worked for a brief time for DEPS, Inc. She kept books for several small businesses throughout her career. Sandra has been listed in Whochr(39)s Whom Among Americachr(39)s Teachers several times and in Whochr(39)s Who in the Midwest. Sandy was a Jennings Scholar in 1998. She attended ATHENS -ity Schools until Dec. of her senior year. She graduated from Phineas Banning HS in Wilmington Calif. in 1961 and summa cum laude from Ohio University with a degree in Business Education in 1985. She took graduate classes at Ohio University and Ohio State. She raised collies and Scotties. She enjoyed crocheting and working on the computer. She was an avid genealogy fan. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and friends. Sandra was a member of New Life Assembly of God. She is survived by her husband, John R. Shrieves; daughters, Tammy (Tom) Carsey and Connie Wallace of Athens/The Plains area; step-daughters, Kelly (Dave) Stewart of Columbus, OH and Susan (Randy) Adams of New Braunfels, Tx.; six grandchildren, Dusty Jackson, KaSandra Carsey Watkins, Travis Barry, Mindy Jo Carsey, Sean and Kasandra Wallace all of ATHENS county; five great-grandchildren, Cody and Paige Watkins, MaKayla Bowen, Madison Hart, and Tyler Jackson; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany and Spencer Stewart and Zachary Adams; a sister, Lenora Graham Davidson, Richmond, VA; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Howard and Pat McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Helen Grubb Call, and a brother Jerry Grubb. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, ATHENS -ith Pastor Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in ATHENS -emory Gardens. Friends are invited to come and celebrate Sandychr(39)s passing on to her new life with the Lord.
