Born May 9, 1912, in Athens, he was a son of the late Arthur and Lucy Frost Gaston. He was a former resident of Athens, where he was employed by the ATHENS -tate Mental Hospital. He was a member of the West State St. Free-Will Baptist Church in Athens. Earlier in life, he had worked at the ATHENS -umber Company. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and as a member of the National Guard. Harry Richard was married to Hazel Grace Webb of Zaleski, who preceded him in death in January, 2001. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; William, Byron and Paul Gaston. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Smith of Albany and brothers, Charles Gaston of ATHENS and James (Vivian) Gaston of Albany; sister-in-law Margaret Gaston of Albany, step-son Herbert Napper of Winchester, KY, niece Marie Clelland of Albany and several other nieces and nephews. Harry Richard was a dedicated worker and devoted husband. He was a kind and caring person, who will be missed by all who knew him. We need more Harry Gastonchr(39)s in this world. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 :00 pm at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens, with Dearl Porter officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
