ATHENS -William H. Follrod, 79, of ATHENS died early Tuesday morning, March 22, 2005 at Scenic Hills Nursing Home in Gallipolis.He was born February 10, 1926 in Meigs County, and was the son of the late Raymond and Clara Barnett Follrod.He was a graduate of Olive Orange High School in Tuppers Plains, a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the ATHENS -merican Legion, Post 21. He retired as supervisor for the Meter Department for Columbus Southern Electric Department and after retirement he enjoyed woodworking.He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rose Howard Follrod; a daughter, Sue (David) Crabtree of Cary, NC; a granddaughter, Brianna; one brother, Clair Edward (Osie Mae) Follrod of Meigs County; five sister-in-laws, Margaret Follrod of Pomeroy, Zelda Howard of Guysville, Genevieve Baker of Athens, Mary C. (Elbert) Midkiff of Athens, and Deanna Howard of Manhattan, KS; two aunts, Leola Swartz of ATHENS and Nina Robinson of Belpre; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Carleton Follrod; two brothers-in-law, Ambrose Howard and Herman Howard; and one sister-in-law, M. Annie Mansfield.Services will be Friday at 10:30 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with Mnsr. Patrick Gaughan officiating.
