Thomas R. Savage

ATHENS - Thomas R. Savage, 56, of ATHENS died at his residence and went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 2, 2005.Born August 25, 1948 in Albany, and was the son of the late Thomas R. and Ina Mae Coen Savage.He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam Campaign of 1967 to 1970. He was formerly employed at the ATHENS -ity Services Department, Albany Village Services Department and Kerr Distributing. He also was a lifetime member of The Plains VFW, Post 7174.He is survived by his wife, Louella G. Savage of 17 wonderful years; two sons, David (Josie) Savage of Texas, Tommy Savage of Texas; two daughters, April (Bill) Waugh of Chillicothe, Jenny Savage of Oklahoma; two stepsons, Wilfred (Teresa Cline-Geer) Scurlock of Chauncey, David Scurlock of Athens; three stepdaughters, Sherri (Charles McDowell) Eblin of Albany, Brenda (John) Welch of Athens, Debbie (Joey) Hart of Millfield; a grandson raised in the home, Randy Eblin; three brothers, Charles (Phyllis) Grubbs of Athens, Edward (Donna) Savage of Albany, Paul Fink of Mount Gilead; four grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Jerry Scurlock.Services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, ATHENS -ith Carl Radcliff officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.
