Jo Ann Whittaker

ATHENS - Jo Ann Whittaker, 63, of Athens, died Sunday evening, January 9, 2005 at Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 28, 1941 in ATHENS county, and was the daughter of the late Velma E. Baker. She was a former employee of Kimes Convalescent Center, Echoing Meadows and Treadway Mail. She is survived by her husband, Howard Francis; seven children, Alva Whittaker Jr. of Van Buren, Arkansas, James Whittaker of Chillicothe, Joan Whittaker of Athens, Betty (Mick) Cunningham of Athens, David Whittaker of The Plains, Mike Francis of Watertown, and Mark Francis of Watertown; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Rosa Lee Klingenberg of Torch; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Alva Whittaker in 1982.Services will be Friday at 11 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with Dave Cogar officiating.
