Michael Irwin

ATHENS - Michael Irwin, 48, of Fort Lauderdale, Fl., formerly of Athens, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 22, 2004.Born March 14, 1956 in Chincoteague, Va., and was the son of Peggy Irwin of ATHENS and the late Larry Irwin.Michael spent the last 30 years in the professional lighting industry and was well known for his exceptional abilities in light design and teaching others computer light design. He was also well traveled and especially loved Peru. He will be greatly missed by the many people who knew him. Besides his mother, he is survived by his sister, Kimberly (Randy) Lapp of Stewart; two brothers, David Irwin of Guysville and Stephen (Cari) Irwin of Gainesville, Ga; 9 nieces and nephews and one great niece. Besides his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents.Graveside services at Alexander Cemetery will be announced at a later date by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens. You may send a message of sympathy to the family on the funeral home website at www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
