George R. Tucker

ATHENS - George R. Tucker, 85, of Athens, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at Russellchr(39)s Nursing Home, Albany. Born December 19, 1918, in Athens, he was the son of the late Leonard and Mary Baxter Tucker.George was retired from Abex and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine M. Tucker, two sons, Dick Tucker of Logan, and Herb Tucker of Athens; a daughter, Jeanie McCoy of Athens; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary; and several brothers and sisters.There will be no services at the request of the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens.
