Ronald Neil Gilmore

THE PLAINS - Ronald Neil Gilmore, 66, of The Plains, died Sunday, January 25, 2004, at Logan Health Care Center, Logan. Born November 8, 1937 in East Gulf, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Willis A. and Keith E. Clark Gilmore.He was an Airforce veteran and was retired from the ATHENS -ost Office, where he served as a Mail Carrier for 42 years.  Ron was a past president of the National Association of Mail Carriers and was one of the top donors to the American Red Cross Blood Drive.He is survived by his wife, Diane Marie (Thole) Gilmore; one daughter, Ronda (Wade) Poffenbarger of Albany; a step-daughter, Ann (Glen) Goins of Athens; a stepson, Michael Fletcher of Albany; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Clark Gilmore of Wisconsin; and a sister, Mari Klark of California.Ronald was preceded in death by his parents.Memorial services will be held Wednesday evening, at 7:00 p.m. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens.Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ronchr(39)s honor to the Alzheimerchr(39)s Association of Central Ohio, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, Ohio  43221.
