THE PLAINS - Herman D. Henry, 71, of The Plains, died early Monday morning, April 5, 2004, at the Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born December 1, 1932, in Clifton, WV, he was the son of the late Earl Sr. and Edna Mowery Henry.Herman was retired from the U.S. military with 20 years of service, and was Korean War veteran. Additionally, he retired from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Identification (BCI&I), after working there 32 years. Upon his retirement from BCI&I, he also served as a deputy for the Vinton County Sheriffchr(39)s Department.Herman was a member of The Plains United Methodist Church, and the ATHENS -merican Legion.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ima Jean Henry; two sons, Richard Henry of Springfield, and Jay (Jacque) Henry of Mineral Wells, WV; three grandsons, Jeff Henry of Mineral Wells; Chris Henry of Springfield; and Jason Henry of Mineral Wells; one great granddaughter, Alyssa Henry of Springfield; two brothers, Earl Jr. (Sitty) Henry of New Haven, WV, Joe (Oreda) Henry of Oklahoma; and one sister, Janice (Mike) Buskirk of West Lafayette.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hood.Services will be held Thursday, at 1:00 p.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with Reverend David Roach officiating. Burial will be at ATHENS -emory Gardens, where military services will be conducted by the ATHENS -FW, Post 3477, and the American Legion, Post 476
