David A. McClain

ATHENS - David A. McClain, 71, of Athens, passed away Friday evening, March 12, 2004, after an extended illness.  Born December 15, 1932, in Athens, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Gladys Moore McClain.David was a former employee of the State of Ohio, and the ATHENS county Garage, and retired from The Plains Water District.  He was a member of the NRA, and was enjoying his retirement as an avid outdoorsman.He is survived by six children, Bill (Lisa) Hart of Athens, Debbie (Tom) Cornelious of Athens, Denise (Larry) Barnhart of Athens, Paula (Charlie) Black of Athens, David (Jenny) McClain of California, and Patrick (Laureen) McClain of Athens; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a very special long-time friend, Eleanor Breeze.Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl M. Smith McClain; a daughter, Lynn A. Ross; and a half sister, Betty.Services will be held, Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with Pastor Denver Dodrill officiating.  Burial will be at Wyers Cemetery, Stewart.Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
