Dean, 70, of Athens, died Tuesday morning, April 13, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.Born Dec. 7, 1933 in Athens, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Koker Dean.He was retired from Southern Ohio Coal Company. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the ATHENS -FW Post 3477 and the ATHENS -MVETS. He was a very loving and caring father and grandfather and will be missed.He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Phyllis; two daughters, Sherry (Dan) Sickels of Athens, Shelly (Jeremy) Daniels of Athens; three grandchildren, Bobby Sickels, Tyler and Haley Daniels all of Athens; three brothers, Joe (Eleanor) Dean of Circleville, Ronald (Shirley) Dean of Williamsburg, VA, Frank (Peg) Dean of Lancaster, a sister, Flora Johnson of Athens.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dian Dowler and Mary Minthorne.Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, ATHENS -ith Rev. Denver Dodrill officiating. Military services will be conducted at the grave by ATHENS -merican Legion and ATHENS -FW.Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
