THE PLAINS Jack Sayre, 78, of The Plains, passed away Saturday morning, March 6, 2004 at his home.Born July 6, 1925, in Trimble, he was the son of the late William and Georgia Moody Sayre.Jack was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII, and was a member of the Christ Community Wesleyan Church, Albany.He is survived by his wife, Laura Mae Sayre; a step-daughter, Helen Jane (Barney) Andrews of Melbourne, FL; a stepson, Patrick (Suzanne) Crawford of Louisville, KY, a step daughter, Grace Rodehaver of Dayton; a sister, Phyllis Hoffman of Connecticut; a brother, Max Sayre of Arizona; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Sayre; a twin brother who died at birth; brothers Myron and Foster; and sisters Donna and Barbara.Services will be held Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m., at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, with Pastor Denver Dodrill officiating.
