Jerry R. Shumway

MILLFIELD  Jerry R. Shumway, 66, of Millfield went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 14, 2004 at the Arthur James Cancer Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 9, 1938 in Millfield he was the son of the late Dwight and Clara Misner Shumway. He was retired from Abex and a former WalMart employee. He had many hobbies including, carpentry, candle making, crafts and hunting. He was a member of Oak Grove Wesleyan Church and attended The Bread of Life church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.He is survived by his wife, Lana; four children, Tressa (Walter) Burdette of Glouster, Jerry Lee (Cindy) Shumway of Buchtel, Tammy (Richard) Nichols of Millfield, Jeff (Amy) Shumway of Millfield; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Jeannette (Jerry) Williams of St. Clairsville; a brother, Jim Shumway of Nelsonville; and several nieces. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Lynne Shumway. Services will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, ATHENS -ith Dave Cogar officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
